MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN ORIHUELA COLLISION

The town centre was closed for over an hour causing major disruption

One man, understood to be the driver, was seriously injured yesterday (Monday) when the car that he was travelling in was involved in a collision with a lorry in the centre of Orihuela city.

The accident occurred at about 6.15 pm at km 648 of the N340. Following the collision the car was trapped under the guardrail running alongside the road with the driver trapped inside. Firefighters had to cut the driver out of the car before he could be moved by the emergency ambulance services to the Vega Baja Hospital.

The N340 was closed for a little over an hour causing major disruption in the town.
