CHRISTMAS COMES TO ORIHUELA

Instead of swans-a-swimming, the Christmas celebrations of Orihuela this year feature seven council departments all working together, as Youth, Culture, Costa, Sports, Trade, Tourism and Festivities launch a campaign to “energize and give animation and festive spirit to the streets of Orihuela”.

Councillors Rosa Martínez and Manuel Gallud made a presentation, detailing some 34 different activities have been laid on, the first which was on Sunday, right through until early January. With everything from clowns and storytelling, musical theatre to rollerblading, all aimed primarily at keeping the younger members of the municipality entertained.

However, the adults will not miss out either, with such delightful attractions as a creativity fair on the 4th of January, and similar gift opportunities each weekend near the cathedral.

Full details are available from the tourist offices and the town hall, as Orihuela becomes festive for the season of Christmas.
