RE SEEDING UNDERWAY AT LOS ARCOS

To coincide with the Christmas break re seeding and general grounds maintenance work got underway at Los Arcos last week, the home of Orihuela CF who currently play in the Tercera Division, the 4th level of the Spanish Football League.

Earlier in the week both the Councillor for Infrastructure and Sports, Antonia Moreno and Luis Galiano, called into the city centre facility to see how work was progressing. Moreno said that the process will use approximately 500 kilos of three different types of seeds.

The contract for the work was awarded to the Cade company Cade from Murcia , whose bid was far cheaper than the others as they have their own specialised machinery and equipment and do not have to bring it in on hire.

Galiano also revealed that a draft agreement is currently being prepared which will see the City Council sponsor Orihuela Club de Fubol with a 60,000 euros grant, the same as last year, despite relegation from Segunda Division B. They will also receive a further 35,000 euros which will pay for the maintenance of the stadium.
