ALMORADI DRUG GANG ARRESTED

Officers from the Guardia Civil have arrested two men, both of Spanish nationality aged 55 and 44, after dismantling a drugs sale point in the town of Almoradí.

The arrests came as part of an operation named “La Paz”, aimed at cracking down on the sale of drugs.

This investigation began in March last year when investigators became aware that a number of individuals were involved in selling drugs, especially cocaine, in the town of Almoradí, as well as other locations across the Vega Baja district.

After nine months investigating the case, the two main suspects were identified and arrested for crimes against public health.

A search was subsequently conducted in the home of one of the detainees, in which a total of 21 grams of cocaine, and some ready for sale, were found, along with tolls and items used in the preparation of the drug, including scales.

Those arrested in the operation have been made available to the courts of Orihuela.
