POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS CROCODILES SEIZED

The environmental and animal welfare group of the Guardia Civil, SEPRONA, have seized two crocodiles and three snakes from a travelling circus in the Extremaruda town of Fresnedoso de Ibor.

The crocodiles were Crocodylus niloticus, more commonly known as Nile Crocodiles, whereas two of the snakes were Python molurus bivittatus, or Albino Pythons, the third being a Python reticulates, or reticulated python.

The circus did not have the necessary documentation to have the animals in Spain, nor could they prove the origin of the specimens.

Under the laws relating to such animals, they have now been handed to the care of the Customs and Excise department in the province of Cáceres.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
