VIDEO GAME TRAGEDY IN ELCHE

The National Police in Elche has opened an investigation to ascertain the circumstances in which a 16 year old boy died at the weekend.

The initial hypothesis suggests that the boy lost his life as a result of suffocation or a fracture to his neck, after an argument over a video game.

A small group of young people, all aged around 15 or 16, had gathered on Saturday to play video games before watching the Madrid football match. At around 23:00, the emergency services were called to a home at the Campo de Elche, reporting the incident, to which a paramedic ambulance was dispatched.

A second ambulance also attended, along with the police, but the medics could do nothing other than confirm the death of the boy. The ambulance crew then dealt with a number of people at the scene, suffering from anxiety attacks, whilst members of the forensic teams started to collate the evidence from the scene to assist in the investigation.
