NEW NATIONAL POLICE OFFICERS SWORN IN

The Secretary of State for Security, Francisco Martínez, presided over the swearing in ceremony of 213 new National Police officers on Friday.

During this event, which was held at the National Police Academy in Ávila, Martínez was accompanied by the Director General of Police, Ignacio Cosidó and other official delegates.

The 168 men and 45 women have all passed the selection procedures and related training courses, and will immediately be sent to a variety of destinations throughout Spain.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. Torrevieja Pump Track Grand Opening
It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
