POLICE EXHIBITION TO TERRORIST VICTIM COLLEAGUES

The Spanish National Police have opened an exhibition in Madrid dedicated to the memory and honour of the 186 officers killed in terrorist attacks throughout a bleak time in the country.

As part of the exhibition, a perpetual flame burns in memory of those who fell for their duty, accompanied by the names of all of those who lost their lives.

A projected image of each of those who were killed is on an accompanying display, with touch screens offering a brief biography of each and every one of them.

The exhibition also covers four key elements in the relationship between the police and terrorists, under the titles of “Truth”, “Justice”, “Memory” and “Dignity”. Not only is the attention given to those who paid the ultimate price, but also the devastating effect the losses has on those left behind, the family and friends of the victims.

A series of panels with both written and graphic information are distributed throughout the campus, along with cabinets where different items seized from terrorist gangs are displayed, including weapons, explosives and exposed documents. This information and material is supplemented with video images on television screens for each of the thematic areas of exposure.

The free and open exhibition is available to visit by members of the public until Friday the 31st of July, from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00, at the Centro de Altos Estudios Policiales del Cuerpo Nacional de Policía, located in the Plaza de Carabanchel, Madrid.
