The Neighbourhood Association were on the streets again last Sunday

Following on from the report in The Leader 4 weeks ago we are delighted to report that some improvement works have recently been carried out in Montecid by the Monforte del Cid Council, although, according the Neighbourhood Association, by no means anywhere near enough.

Work completed includes re-painting all the white lines and crossings in the public roads, removing the burnt out MASA sales office, clearing of the weeds from the Council owned areas of the urbanisation, installing weight limit and traffic signs and the start of work on the entrance road to overcome the drainage problem!

The residents of Montecid say they have to endure large numbers of unfinished houses, rubble, decay, neglect and a complete lack of services and they are only remembered during election periods or when the press publishes an article of protest from residents.

Well hopefully that might mean some more action because following 8 years of frustration the Neighbourhood Association were on the streets again last Sunday when they held another demonstration in the Town Hall Square in Monforte Del Cid. Around 60 residents took part which they hope will further encourage the Council to fully complete, maintain and adopt Montecid.
