History of a shipwreck” displaying artefacts rescued from a British navy ship which was sunk in the mouth of the Ebro in 1813 (until January 11, 2015). Exhibition – Art and archaeology from the Chinese Han Dynasty, 206 BC – 220 AD. Exhibition – Wines of Alicante through history (Through a hundred pieces, some with over twenty centuries old, – vases, jars, bottles, cups, and other publications related to the growing and production of wine utensils visitors can see the origin of production in Alicante). Exhibition – “Toda la galaxia en el castillo”. A collection of 20,000 items of interest to Star Wars fans, including toys, models and works of art. Castillo de Santa Bárbara (Until 11 April). ELCHE Elche fiesta week, a variety of musicians, DJS and bands performing around the city until weekend. GUARDAMAR DEL SEGURA Exhibition of historic coins, Museo Arqueológico (Until Oct). ORIHUELA NEW – Exhibition of historic documents regarding the request to hold a market in the town of san Agustín, dating back to 1756. Biblioteca Pública Municipal María Moliner (Until 31 August). SANTA POLA Naturalia Exhibition of gems, minerals, fossils, insects and shells, Castillo Fortaleza, C/ Almirante Antequera (Final week). Book Fair. Plaza de la Glorieta, opposite the main facade of the Castle (Until 24 August). Exhibition “Tierra y Mar de Sal”, Museo de la Sal (Until 31 August). TORREVIEJA Festival of San Roque is celebrated all this week at the Barrio de San Roque. Includes a variety of events such as games for children, a gymkhana, bouncy castles, music and more. SHOWS AND MUSICALS The Lion King, Teatro Lope De Vega, Madrid (Until 2 November). Otelo, Teatro Bellas Artes, Madrid (Until 14 September). ORIHUELA COSTA Tribute act to Spanish pop groups, Zenia Boulevard. TORREVIEJA 20:00 – Mass and procession for the Festividad San Roque. SUNDAY 17 AUGUST International Smile and Wave to Tourists Day. Markets Benidorm, Elche, La Nucia, Campoverde, La Marina, Zoco, Almoradí street market, Lemon Tree Road, Mil Palmeras. MARBELLA Tom Jones, Auditorio De Marbella Málaga. ORIHUELA COSTA La Banda de Ary Tikky, especially for the younger people, Zenia Boulevard. Underwater guided snorkelling tour (Every Wed and Sun in July and August). TORREVIEJA 20:30 – Summer parade, departing from the Municipal Theatre, crossing Ramon Gallud to “Virgen del Carmen” cultural center.
