It is with great sadness we reveal that Derek Lodge, a member of the Orihuela Costa branch of the Royal British Legion, passed away in the early hours of Thursday morning.
His funeral will take place today, Monday afternoon, at the Tanatorio, opposite the Park of Nations, in Torrevieja at 3.00 pm.
His widow, Gladys, requests no black but mourners should wear either white or casual, no flowers but donations may be made to the Heart Foundation. Afterwards the wake will be at the Casa Ventura in San Luis.
Derek will be fondly remembered as a member of many clubs and associations in the Torrevieja area to which he moved with Gladys in 1998.
A keen bowler with Lemon Tree, Quesada and San Luis Bowls Clubs, he also served in many committee positions as well as Chairman of the South Alicante Bowls Alliance.
Derek formerly lived in Chelmsford, Essex where his children still reside.
