CYCLISTS DONATE WINNINGS TO BIKER COP WIDOW

Spanish cyclists in the tour of Spain are donating their prize winnings to the widow of a Guardia Civil biker who died after crashing his bike whilst escorting them through Asturias.

Eusebio García Flores, aged 41 and stationed in Albacete, crashed at kilometre 22 of the AS-228 road, passing through Proaza.

An investigation suggests “human error” as the motorbike was travelling at 80 kilometres per hour at the time of the crash, and the rider lost control after a spin. Critics have claimed that the investigation was not conclusive however, as now field examinations were carried out.

The funeral was held in the presence of his wife, three daughters and a small number of colleagues this week.
