Waste continues to be dumped on a daily basis

The PP councilor Jose Antonio Aniorte has called for the waste dumping ground at el Camino Viejo de Molins to be cleared up as a matter of urgency.

The dump is situated immediately outside the offices of the Policia Local and is not only a hazard to health but there is also an increasing danger of fire as members of the public continue to deposit cuttings and debris from trees which dry out and increase the risk of fire day by day.

As well as the Policia Local Headquarters the site is also situated adjacent to a number of private houses.

Debris includes garden and plant trimmings, trees and branches, old signs and general rubbish and because of the state of the site the police are no longer able to use the area as a training location for their dogs.

Indeed the current weather situation requires the police HQ to open their patio doors during the heat of the day and as such the stench from the dump often creates additional hazards as it spreads throughout the entire building.

Aniorte called for immediate action to end this problem and avoid the police yard becoming a permanent.
