On set in the harbour

Almost all of the ‘Final Scenes’ of the Cucaracha Club feature film have been completed, just some small extras are required before the Director, Rai Woods, calls "THAT’S A WRAP!".

This production, Siesta Productions first ever feature film, has taken on a truly international feel with a very large cast of around 50 actors. In the last few days members of the public looked on as the story was unfolding on the harbour side, by the Tabarca Ferry terminal, where Spanish actors playing both local and National Police Officers could be seen arresting some of the bad guys.

An appeal for people, made on local radio and in the press yielded great dividends, when a large crowd attended and performed perfectly according to Director Woods and Producer Clive Grey, who said "the whole cast were so impressed we went and gave them a round of applause at the end". Having finished the scene, complete with Police arrest van, the cast and crew then put to sea for more filming.

This included a local re-enactment group called ‘The Foxes’ who made their Cucaracha Debut dressed in combat fatigues and equipped with a range of weapons. They then took part in fight scenes with Yvonne Haughton, Chloe Leigh, Caoimhe O’Shea, Caroline Sim and Spanish lightweight Boxing Champion Emiliano Casal.

This was choreographed by Manu Rodes who hails from Aspe and who was joined by two actresses also from Aspe, Elena Mira Córcoles and Irene SC who played Police officers, as the Torrevieja public looked on.

The Editing stage is next and its expected to take between 4 to 6 month to complete. Further information can be obtained from their website www.siesta.productions
