CANTABILE PERFORM FAURÉ`S REQUIEM

On Saturday April 18th, CANTABILE female choir will perform French composer Gabriel Fauré’s exquisite Requiem, which includes the delightful Pie Jesu, sung and made famous in his youth by Aled Jones.

It has been a long and exciting journey for the choir, to learn a work of this magnitude and importance, and denotes a singular departure from their usual repertoire of classical and traditional songs and airs. The performance will take place in La Siesta Church, Torrevieja, at 7pm.

Under the direction of Jennifer Morton the choir will also sing works by Bach, Elgar, Franck and John Williams and will be accompanied by professional pianist and teacher, Antonio (Toni) Guillén, who hails from Guardamar. There will be solo performances from choir members. Entry will be free with a retiring collection supporting the Anglican Church of La Siesta.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. Torrevieja Pump Track Grand Opening
It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
