The AECC have benefitted from two recent events raising between them almost 2000 euro.
On Saturday 11th April a buffet, raffle and line dancing event was held at The Club, Quesada in memory of popular line dancing teacher John Briffa who sadly passed away on February 16th.

John and his wife Sue ran the Dance Ranch line dancing troupe who hold regular classes at the Club. John will be sadly missed by his friends, family and pupils and will be remembered for his patience, kindness and the love he had for everyone. Almost 1100 euro was raised from Johns funeral, the raffle and donations on the day.

Meanwhile a further 765 euro was raised at Carmens Bar/Restaurant, El Chapperal. This came from a collection made after the funeral of Tony Endacott Weir, the late husband of Sylvia and father of Caroline and from the regular ‘Play your Cards right’ afternoons held at the bar.

Julie Purdy the owner of the bar regularly raises money for charity and on this occasion was asked to give the money to a cancer charity. As the AECC is the Spanish charity for the fight against cancer they were delighted to accept the donation.
