BACK INTO THE POOL AFTER EASTER

On Sunday 19th April, it was the turn of the younger regional swimmers in the 6th League competition

After a few weeks Easter break this seasons swimming competitions resumed. On Sunday 19th April, it was the turn of the younger regional swimmers in the 6th League competition, held in the 25m Municipal Pool, Elda.

Eight of the regions clubs were challenged in the 200m Individual Medley and the 400m and 200m Freestyle events.

Seven members of Club Natacion Torrevieja participated in this event, two of the youngest team members, Leila Hernandez and Jhoely Cejas, swimming their very first competitive races. Other team members, Nicolas Acuna, Georgy Murskiy and younger brother Konstantin, swam races never tried before.

The other two team members Vicky Pigneur and Amy Connolly were challenged with improving upon previous best times in their 200m Individual Medley races. Vicky was close to her PB but it was Amy who managed to improved upon her previous time by 19 seconds.

This coming weekend it is the turn of the older swimmers in their two day timed control event in the Municipal Pool, Petrer, followed by the Clubs Masters on the 10th May.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. Torrevieja Pump Track Grand Opening
It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
