DOCUMENTS HANDED TO ORIHUELA ARCHIVES

The Councillor of Culture, Rosa Martinez and the Pro-Río Segura Commission President, José Antonio Muñoz Grau

The ecology group Pro-Río has handed over 30,000 documents to the Municipal Historical Archives.
The Councillor of Culture, Rosa Martinez and the Pro-Río Segura Commission President, José Antonio Muñoz Grau, signed the agreement on Monday donating all of the documentation that has been gathered over many years to the Municipal Archives

"It is all part of our history, united people all fighting for a common cause", said the councillor.
Muñoz Grau has said that in addition to photographs, leaflets and posters, he had delivered four boxes full of documentation, and there are still another two to be brought across.

"This heritage is not ours, but of all the people of Orihuela," he said when making the donation.
According Muñoz Grau, it comprises of everything that was published in Spain and Europe pertaining to the Segura River from April 1998. He also delivered a pen drive with over 5,000 documents bringing the number to 30,000 in total.

The spokesman of Pro-Rio also appealed to other residents who might have additional material to bring them all in so they might be kept together
