Chelsea Pensioner Wayne Campbell donated a large Teddy Bear dressed as a Chelsea Pensioner

The Orihuela Costa and District Branch of The Royal British Legion were at Alfies Place La Zenia on Friday 8 May to celebrate V.E Day.

The evening started with a 3 course meal followed by entertainment from Phil Bowles, TAABS, Crazy Ladies, Emily Hullamn, Rebecca Holt, Cindy Fitzpatrick, Dan Davy, the night was hosted by Simon Morton. All of the artist’s performed at no cost in aid of The Poppy Appeal.

There was a raffle that raised €300.00 and Chelsea Pensioner Wayne Campbell donated a large Teddy Bear dressed as a Chelsea Pensioner which was auctioned and raised a further €50.00

The branch meet every 3rd Thursday of each month at The Olympia Restaurant Mil Palmeras 7pm for 7.30 pm. You do not have to be ex military to become a member.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. Torrevieja Pump Track Grand Opening
It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
