Iceland Comes to Torrevieja

A delegation of journalists from Iceland has been visiting Torrevieja this week, on a press trip organized by the Costa Blanca tourist board.

The aim was to offer an insight into the benefits of visiting the area, and some of the features on offer to tourists.

The journalists were taken on a cycle ride through La Mata and on a visit to the salt making factory.

The tour then continued through other areas across the Alicante province.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. Torrevieja Pump Track Grand Opening
It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
