JB Brass Band are delighted to announce the appointment of a new Musical Director. Mr Brian Webber FLCM, LRAM is an accomplished Conductor and Professional Violinist.
He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Sir Yehudi Menuhin. Brian worked as a Teacher of Violin in the UK for 20 years before moving to Spain. Since moving here in 1994 he has continued to play and teach both at the Conservatoire in Murcia and as Principal Conductor with the Cartagena Chamber Orchestra, a post he retained until his recent retirement.
The Band and Brian have been working together for the past month. ‘This has been a new partnership for both JB and Brian and the musical diversity is proving to be a perfect combination’ said Chairman Ian Gibson. ‘Rehearsals have been both enjoyable and challenging for everyone and I hope that our audiences will notice a new confidence within our players.’
