Woman Knocked Down on Orihuela Pedestrian Crossing

A woman was injured on Thursday when she was struck by a car on a pedestrian crossing on Avenida de la Vega, Orihuela. The incident occurred at around 2pm when the car failed to stop for the woman who was on the crossing, hitting her and sending her to the ground.

The driver of the vehicle summonsed help and emergency medics attended and treated the victim for a variety of injuries before transferring her to the Vega Baja hospital by ambulance. Her condition is not said to be serious.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
