Weather Alert for High Temperatures

A weather alert was issued by the Spanish government on Thursday evening, supporting warning from the Protección Civil and met office, warning of high temperatures from Friday.

Temperatures could reach 38 degrees in inland areas of the peninsular, whereas in Valencia temperatures are expected to reach 36 degrees.

The weather alert is expected to remain in place until at least Tuesday of next week, with extreme care required to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, remain in well ventilated and shaded places, drink plenty of water and wear light clothing and protection when outdoors.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
