The Regional Education department of Valencia has agreed with the educational community and will delay the start of the first school term in September.

Many workers in the education sector believed that a return to work on the 3rd of September was too soon after they finished at the start of June, and proposed a delay until the 10th.

The Valencian government will meet next week to finalise the dates but now look set to agree that the school year should start on the 10th of September for those in primary education, and two or three days later for those in secondary school.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. Torrevieja Pump Track Grand Opening
It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
