Fire fighters in Barcelona were called to rescue a man from a rooftop on Saturday, after reports that he was precariously balanced on the edge.
The Catalan police were in attendance at the scene at the junction of calle Rosselló and Rambla de Catalunya, and the fire service came to assist on account of the man´s position.
However, there was a surprise in stores as they found the man to be completely naked, with hs back to the street, and looking towards the sun.
With an inflatable support in place on the ground in case he fell, the rescuers used a hydraulic platform to reach the man, who was seemingly oblivious to their arrival, maintaining is pose of apparent sun-worship.
The fire fighters slowly approached the man and gave him some gentle persuasion to a safer point on the roof, before being able to remove him completely and have him taken to hospital for assessment.
Meanwhile, the police entered his home as part of the investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and found a variety of narcotic substances, for which he was arrested at the hospital as an alleged perpetrator of a crime against the public health.
