Twenty-Five Drivers Caught After Orihuela Night Party

Following the all-night party on the Orihuela Costa on Wednesday, the Guardia Civil launched a monitoring campaign against drink and drug driving, successfully taking 25 dangerous drivers off the roads.

In total, 20 drivers tested positive for driving under the influence of alcohol, and another 5 were charged with driving having consumed illegal drugs.

With harsher penalties now in place for drink and drug driving, these latest offenders will at least be considerably out of pocket as a result of their actions.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
