Offence: Unnecessarily Lane Changing.

Changing lanes without respecting a vehicle already in that lane carries a 200 euro fine. Zigzagging between lanes will result in a 200 fine but may qualify as reckless driving, thus resulting in a 500 euro fine and the loss of 6 points.

Fine: 200 euro

Reason: The flow of normal traffic runs smoothly until such a time as the roads become congested, then it may be necessary for traffic to use more than one lane. Changing lanes impedes the flow of traffic, causes delays and can be dangerous, depending in the severity of your actions. Causing any other vehicle to deviate from its course speed or direction means that you have become a hazard, which is dangerous in itself.
