Hunt Launched for Hit and Run Scooter Rider

Officers from the Local Police in Alicante have launched a hunt for the driver of a moped involved in a hit and run incident in the city.

The incident occurred on Avenida Alfonso X el Sabio near to Calle Navas where the 51-year-old male pedestrian was knocked down whilst crossing the road at around 13:25 on Friday afternoon.

As a result of the incident, the man suffered serious injuries and was taken by a paramedic unit to Alicante hospital.

The moped fled the scene and so the officers are now scouring the extensive network of CCTV cameras in the city to locate the rider.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
