Despite date changes and other delays in the last couple of years, Torrevieja has always managed to celebrate its annual May Fair (although not always in May), as it is one of the city’s most important cultural events on the calendar.
This year, the May Fair or Feria de Sevillanas, as they are now calling it, will be held in May, during the last full week of the month.
For those that do not know what to expect, it is best to go along in the evening, probably from around 21.00h onwards. There will be stalls selling delicious food and drinks and pop-up restaurants offering the best in traditional Spanish cooking with tasty treats such as platters of whitebait, squid, small peppers, tapas and much more. Not to mention lots of colour, costumes, chatter and cheeriness.
Every night, there will be a musical and dance performance on the main stage by some of the country’s biggest flamenco stars (see the programme below).
This is definitely an event not to be missed!
