Pensioner Dies at La Mata Beach

A pensioner, said by the emergency services to be a 78-year-old male, died on Tuesday morning at La Mata beach.

The man was said to have shown signs of having suffered a heart attack, and so emergency medics were sent to the scene.

Despite attempts to revive the man, there was nothing the emergency crews could do to save his life and he was confirmed dead a little after 10:30.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. Torrevieja Pump Track Grand Opening
It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
