The last lunar eclipse

The Asociación Astronómica de Universidad de Alicante, the astronomic group at the University of Alicante, is arranging an observation night on July 27 when the lunar eclipse can be watched from La Mata Beach.

The free event will take place from 6:30 in the evening until around 1 in the morning.

The total lunar eclipse will occur when the Moon will pass through the centre of the Earth’s shadow. This will be the first central lunar eclipse since June 15, 2011. Since it will occur near apogee, this eclipse will also be the longest total lunar eclipse in the 21st century.

You can get more information from their Facebook event page, Observación Eclipse Total de Luna.
