The Tourism Department of the Valencia Regional Government are attending an ornithological event in the UK, to showcase what the region can offer specifically to birdwatchers

The event, Birdfair, is held at the Rutland Nature Reserve in Egleton, and is taking place from today, 17 August, until Sunday.

The world renowned event brings together more than 400 exhibitors and 20,000 visitors, and, therefore, is an “unbeatable scenario for any ornithological tourism initiative that seeks to make itself known to an international audience”, the Government said in a statement.

Valencia boasts 40 protected zones around the region, offering a wide diversity of birds to be observed, some of great interest for any British or European amateur, since they are absent or practically absent from their avifauna (Bonelli’s eagle, reddish-brown teal, White-headed duck, crabeater, Black wheatear , bee-eater, common calandria, montesino scribe, verderón serrano and others).
