Road and Traffic Disruption Plans on Saturday Evening

Torrevieja Local Police are implementing measures of improvement and fluidity of traffic on Saturday evening, 8 September, between 20:30 and 22:00 that will be in place in the port area, for the celebration of the road-running race “II Legua Nocturna Port of Torrevieja”.

The event may depend on weather developments during Saturday, as heavy rain is forecast for the whole weekend.

-The access to the seafront and the port area will be closed by Faleria avenue and Paseo Vistalegre at approximately 8:30 p.m. Access to Vistalegre Parking and the garages will be possible through calles Ramón Gallud and Patricio Pérez.

-The road closure will affect drivers who intend to access the seafront and port area from Avenida Gregorio Marañón in the north and calle San Policarpo.

– Between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., it will not be possible to access Paseo Vistalegre or Avenida de Libertad, nor to the public car parks located in the port area, Marina Salinas, or Vista Alegre parking.

– In the same time slot, from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm, the departure of vehicles from the port area and the parking lot will be restricted to those authorised and controlled by the local police or Proteccion Civil officers. The exit of the port area by authorised vehicles can be made by avenida libertad, calle ramón y cajal or avenida libertad and calle rambla juan mateo.

– Between 8:30 p.m. and 8:55 p.m., access to the port area can be done through calles Ramón Gallud and María Parodi along Avenida la Libertad at the roundabout located in front of the Casino.

– The taxi stop on Avenida la Libertad will be affected between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on account of the closure of access, and by calles María Parodi from calle Pedro Lorca. Taxis will be available from the ranks at calles Ramón y Cajal or Rambla Juan Mateo.

– The departure of the Tourist Train at 9:00 p.m. will not be affected. The 10:00 p.m. departure also shouldn´t be affected, but this may depend on any delays in the start and end of the event.

– Bus access to the stop by the interchange on avenida Faleria will not be affected.

– Access to Miguel Hernández Plasa, Virgen del Carmen Centre and Plaza de Oriente public car parks will not be affected.
