The castration of street cats is the only ethical solution that also gives long-term results “, explained the councillor.

It is the third consecutive year that Torrevieja has been awarded the grant and launched the initiative to deal with environmental problems caused by overpopulation.

With this grant 150 cats can be castrated, and identified by a small cut on the tip of the ear – the females on the right and the males on the left. A number that adds to the 59 cats were castrated at the beginning of the year, so that by the end of 2018 more than 200 cats will have been neutered in Torrevieja, with a grand total exceeding 1,500 cats.
