Officers from the Guardia Civil have arrested eleven people, one of them a minor, believed to be part of a criminal network which distributed drugs through a tapas bar.

Those arrested are accused of crimes against public health and drug trafficking, and have been remanded in custody, with the exception of the minor who has been placed in the care of a family member.

Nine raids were made across Torrevieja, including three outlets, two bars and a booth, with 183 grams of cocaine, 200 grams of hashish, hashish acorns and uncut substances, and more than six thousand euro in cash seized.

The officers were fist aware of a woman in her sixties who opened her bar every day at 7 and, despite her innocent appearance, performed a key role in the network. The woman is amongst those arrested, along with a 34-year-old woman and four men, aged, 17, 22, 33 and 40. The other arrests were made as part of the group outside the immediate area.
