Talks to Explain Suma Tax Collection Services

The Suma tax management agency, who operate on behalf of the Provincial Council of Alicante, has launched an outreach program with the aim of explaining their services to foreign residents.

The agency collect municipal taxes such as those for waste disposal and vehicles, and issue bills which have to be paid preferably during the initial “voluntary” period, or afterwards when a supplement is added to the bill.

The first set of information sessions will take place this week, starting on Monday, 8 April in Rojales (10:00 a.m. at the Municipal Centre in Ciudad Quesada), Tuesday 9 in Alfaz del Pi (10:00 a.m. at the Casa de Cultura), Thursday 11 in Denia (10:00 a.m. at the Agencia Comarcal Marina Alta) and Friday 12 in Orihuela (10:00 at the Orihuela Costa town hall.

The talks, which will be in English, are intended to inform foreign taxpayers about their municipal tax obligations, and explain what Suma Tax Management does.

In addition, the talks will showcase the new Suma website, the content of which encompasses access requirements and utilities offered as well as the procedures that can be performed online.

The Suma website, www.suma.es, has an English version and also hosts content in different languages ​​(French, German, Russian) for helping as many people as possible with their bill payments.

Attendees will also be told about the telephone service, also in English, and what to do if you are struggling with your bills.
