NEW HEALTH MINISTER APPOINTED

Alfonso Alonso

Congressional spokesperson for the Partido Popular, Alfonso Alonso, has been appointed to the role of Minister for Health, following the resignation of Ana Mato last week.

Born in Vitoria, the second largest city on the northern Basque Country, Alonso was the city mayor between 1999 and 2007, before promotion to the post president of the province of Álava, then becoming the spokesperson for the national party since 2011.

The move into a ministerial post is the third such displacement during this term in office.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. Torrevieja Pump Track Grand Opening
It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
