Hot Air Balloon Crash Death

One person was killed and six others injured on Sunday when a hot air balloon crashed in the Vilanova del Camí area of Barcelona.

The balloon crashed into an embankment whilst performing a landing manoeuvre. The victims were participating in the European Balloon Festival, held in Igualada. The festival organisers reported the death of the 51 year old pilot, who was a resident of Sitges, via their Twitter account.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
