Volunteers Needed to Help Recover Wine Route

Thanks to a collaboration with the AKI diy shops, there will be two days dedicated to environmental volunteering at the La Mata natural park, with the hope of preserving one of the most emblematic routes of the Park, “La Ruta del Vino”, or Wine Route.

The route has become particularly special to those who have experienced it as it showcases the importance of the vineyards and how they contribute to the biodiversity of this natural space.

Sadly, because of constant acts of vandalism that this route suffers during the summer, it has become necessary to organise a volunteering day, which has then been extended to two days over two weekends, in order to repair the damage and prepare the route for more visitors to enjoy, whilst allowing those who take part time to enjoy the wonder of the landscape that these vines provide.

The days set aside are Saturday the 17 and 24 of November, starting at 10:30 from the visitor’s centre at the La Mata park, but if you want to help out registration is a must.

To register for this free and rewarding activity, you must email parque_lamata@gva.es giving your full name, and the number of people in your group, as well as indicating if they are adults or children, as even the little ones can get involved, although probably not too young as they might get bored easily. You must also indicate which of the days you would like to attend, and a contact telephone number.

By the way, if you are not planning to take part but are considering visiting the park on the day, you need to be aware that the visitor’s centre will be closed during the activity as everyone will be out helping out.
