The Guardia Civil is investigating the cause of the death of a middle-aged man whose body was found by a bather on the playa del Acequión beach in Torrevieja.
A bather discovered the body at around 12:30 on Monday and alerted the emergency services.
Initial inspections of the man revealed that there were no apparent signs of violence, although the man was wearing normal clothes, rather than swimwear.
An autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of death whilst the investigation is being carried out.
