Two people were injured on Tuesday morning when the vehicles they were driving collided at kilometre 93 of the N-332 coastal road, around one kilometre on the Alicante side of the Gran Alacant urbanisation.

The incident happened at around 10:30 in the morning resulting in one motorist, believed to be 33 years of age, being seriously injured, and a second, said to be 54 years of age, suffering less serious injuries, both being taken to the general hospital in Alicante.

The incident caused the road to remain blocked for about two hours before the Cartagena bound lane was reopened, the Alicante direction being cleared shortly afterwards. The road in the location is a single lane carriageway in each direction with no central reservation.
