Two goals from Dani Garcia and Raul Albentosa earned Eibar a 2-0 victory at Elche in La Liga on Friday night.

In a dour affair the visitors got off to a flying start when Garcia’s low shot crept in after just three minutes. Albentosa’s header shortly before the interval doubled the lead as Eibar made it two wins from their opening four league games.

After a slow start Elche began to get into the game and Faycal Fajr saw his shot tipped around a post by Jon Irazusta.

The hosts came out fighting after the break and Fajr had a corner tipped over by Irazusta before Jonathas headed the resulting delivery wide at the near post.

Damian Suarez then forced another save from the busy Irazusta.

The Eibar goalkeeper was alert again two minutes from time to turn a Fajr shot from long range around a post as his side sealed the win.
