CF CULLERA -4 CD TORREVIEJA – 0 …… A trip to the picturesque seaside resort of Cullera last Saturday, not only saw Torry lose their 5 match unbeaten run, but they must now play the next match without a key player.

Last season’s visit to Aeria Stadium resulted in a narrow victory, which Torry manager Galiana was keen to repeat, but alas it never really looked on the cards. Martin was booked for a foul early on, in what proved to be a scrappy half of few chances.

On the stroke of half time, Guillem stroked the ball home for the hosts. It appeared that Adrian had been pushed in the build up, signalling strong protests which culminating in Vicente receiving his marching orders, following the award of a 2nd yellow card. Although Cullera doubled their advantage on 58 mins through Oscar, Torry fought back well.

Substitute Carrasco bamboozled his opponents on 65 mins, but his shot was cleared off the line, then 5 mins later, fellow sub Cristian brought off a fine keeper’s save. This begs the question as to why both these crowd pleasers, were again not started from the offset, and also why Alexis kept the bench warm throughout the match? Cullera added a 3rd goal through Marin on 73 mins, and although Torry threatened briefly when a defender almost conceded an own goal from a corner, twas the hosts who ended the match on a high.

In the last 5 mins, they rattled first the cross bar, then the post, before Manugassent eventually added a 4th goal. This was all too much for captain Jorge who picked up a booking, then his manager Galiana was dismissed from the dug out for comments to the match officials.

Another away div 3 match awaits Torry, for they must visit Beniganim next Sat 15 Nov, in what will hopefully be a return to winning ways.
