The XIV Provincial Game Shooting Fair was held in Pilar de la Horadada last weekend drawing over 1500 people to the event.
The organisers say the figure would have been far greater but for the heavy rains endured over the three days of the festival organized by the Club de Caza La Peña, together with the collaboration of the Municipality of Pilar de la Horadada and the Provincial Hunting Club of Alicante
The doors opened on Friday afternoon to greet hundreds of hunting enthusiasts who were visiting the fair to see at firsthand the many new and existing products available to hunting followers and enthusiasts.
The president of the Club de Caza la Peña, Amelio Martínez, said that the numbers visiting the show were encouraging despite the rain, since about 1500 people have enjoyed the event where they were able to see exhibits related to the world of hunting and share experiences during the three days of this popular fair.
Pilar mayor, José Fidel Ros, said that the weekend provides an important event for lovers of the sport which the City Council is extremely proud to support and now in its fourteenth edition as the popularity continues to grow.
Councillor of the Environment, Ivan Romero, said that the event has become a benchmark in the region for hunting enthusiasts, adding that the town has long enjoyed an important hunting tradition with more than 200 active hunters who regularly shoot game in the local area.
