Lorente has been summoned to appear on October 22nd

The former mayor of Orihuela, Monica Lorente, has been given the first date in which she will have to appear in court in connection with alleged falsifying documents in the award for works to construct a new plaza at Escorratel.

Lorente has been summoned to appear on October 22nd, at court number 3 in Orihuela, along with others in connection with the case.

Other outstanding cases are still being considered by the court and investigators, including Lorente´s connection with one of the biggest corruption cases in the country, the “caso Brugal”

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
