The new socialist Mayor of Elche, Carlos González (PSOE), has issued a notice to the municipal technicians to unlock the town hall´s social network sites to allow comments, shares and posts on their Facebook and Twitter pages.
The new mayor said in a statement that the previous PP run government had blocked interaction on the sites, as a consequence of their “policy of institutional communication”, whereas the new government feel that the public “have the right” to access municipal information, regardless of their opinion, and they should not block their freedom of expression.
