A 43-year-old man has been arrested in the Torrellano area of Elche (Alicante), for allegedly modifying the body of an old Pontiac car, converting it to have the appearance of a luxury Ferrari, with the aim of selling it for financial benefit.

According to the National Police, the man had used logos officially registered by the Italian brand to give a greater appearance of truth to the scam, in a sale that was announced at a popular online sales portal.

The vehicle has been seized in a workshop in Torrellano, in an operation carried out by agents of the Specialist Crime group of the Provincial Brigade of the Judicial Police of Alicante.

The man was released with charges pending facing crimes against intellectual property and fraud, on account of manipulating the vehicle so that at first glance it had the appearance of being a Ferrari, a vehicle of much higher value.
