The Valencian Community has now established the official start date for the upcoming academic year. The school year will commence on 9th September 2026 for students in Infancia, Primaria, ESO, Bachillerato, and Formación Profesional, with the final day of classes scheduled for 18th June 2027.
According to guidelines set by the Conselleria de Educación, Cultura y Universidades through the Dirección General de Centros Docentes, the calendar will comprise a total of 179 school days. The Director General of Centros Docentes, Jorge Cabo, detailed that these dates have been finalised following an extensive period of negotiations with various sectors across the educational community.
However, start dates will vary depending on the specific educational path. Basic qualification programmes and second-chance FP courses will begin on 14th September. They will be joined on this date by adult education classes, artistic studies in music and dance, and professional training courses in plastic arts and design. These specific courses are set to conclude earlier, on 11th June 2027.
Meanwhile, specialised sports training courses are scheduled to kick off on 21st September, followed by the official language schools (Escuelas Oficiales de Idiomas), which will begin their term on 28th September 2026.
Regarding holidays and festive periods, the Christmas break will run from 22nd December 2026 until 6th January 2027. The Easter holidays have been scheduled to take place from 25th March until 5th April 2027. In addition to these periods, several public holidays will be observed as non-school days, including 9th October (Valencian Community Day), 12th October (National Holiday), 8th December (the Day of the Immaculate Conception), and 19th March (Father’s Day).
