Officers from the Orihuela Local Police and the Guardia Civil carried out a joint operation on Monday evening, 7th September, at a premises on the Orihuela Costa, successfully freeing a man who was allegedly being held against his will and arresting four men.
The operation was launched after the Local Police received a report that a man was being assaulted and threatened inside a property, with indications that some of those involved could be armed with firearms.
Due to the severity of the situation, several local police patrols were swiftly dispatched to the scene, backed by Guardia Civil officers. While some units secured the perimeter, others entered the building immediately due to the clear and present danger to the individual inside.
Inside, officers found the victim, who had suffered various injuries, alongside several people allegedly connected to the incident. The intervention successfully brought the situation to a close, liberated the captive man, and he was subsequently taken away for medical attention.
As a result of the operation, four men were detained for their alleged involvement in assault, threats with a firearm, illegal detention, and offences related to public health.
During the intervention, officers seized firearms, ammunition, and cartridges, alongside a substantial quantity of drugs. The recovered items included marijuana, hashish, cocaine, THC products, and various resins, together with precision scales and other equipment linked to the potential distribution of these substances.
The operation required close coordination between multiple Orihuela Local Police patrols and Guardia Civil officers during both the initial deployment and subsequent procedures. Appropriate legal proceedings have now been initiated to advance the ongoing investigation.
