Three people, consisting of a 20-year-old woman and two men aged 37 and 42, have been arrested for allegedly committing five robberies with force at self-service laundries across the Marina Alta region in the province of Alicante, stealing more than 4000€ in the process.
According to a statement issued by the Guardia Civil, the alleged perpetrators are believed to have used their familiarity with these establishments to break in, steal the money, and cause various material damages.
Officers from the Guardia Civil in El Verger launched an investigation after learning of several burglaries at laundries in El Verger, Pedreguer and Gata de Gorgos within a short space of time.
Inquiries revealed that the suspects understood how these businesses operated, having previously visited them as customers to do their laundry. This familiarity reportedly allowed them to understand the security measures in place and use that information to carry out the crimes.
Following enquiries, officers managed to identify and locate the three suspects, arresting them as the alleged perpetrators of five crimes involving robbery with force. The case files have been sent to the courts in Dénia.
